“Surgery is not the easiest thing to go through. All the paperwork and other time-consuming tasks make it worse. Special thanks to the staff members who helped me with the admissions process. They put me at ease and made me more comfortable to have my surgery at HOSH.”
ADMISSIONS PROCESS
On the day of your surgery, you will check in at the Business Services front desk, located just to the left of the front lobby. Our warm and kind professionals will make sure that all the necessary paperwork is completed. You may pre-register by completing the paperwork over the phone, in one of our educational classes or by printing the forms, filling them out and bringing them with you. After completing the paperwork, our staff will go over your insurance coverage and make sure to answer all your questions.
Once you understand your insurance coverage and your paperwork is complete, you will be sent to the surgical waiting room located on the second floor. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted on the surgical floor. We have a children’s play room located on the first floor for your convenience. You will check in at the front desk of the surgical waiting room and a nurse will take you to the pre-op area to prep for surgery.

At the front desk, your family will be provided with a pager that allows us to keep in touch with them should they decide to grab a bite to eat in the Café. We will page them when there is an update or to let them know you are out of surgery.
The support from your family and friends is important during this process. After you are prepared for surgery, your family will be allowed to sit with you in the pre-op area until your procedure. They will also be allowed to sit with you once your procedure is finished.
